CHEROKEE

CHEROKEE INDIANS LIVED IN CHICKEE HOUSES.

The Seminole Trible in Florida built Chickee’s. The frame was made of

logs and the roof was covered of Palmetto leaves and grasses. It is called a

thatch roof. There were no walls in chickees because they weren’t needed in

warm southern areas and breezes could blow through.

skin for shirts, moccasins, leggings and belts. Arts and crafts

were made out of cornhusks, beads and shells to make dolls.
